Captain’s Brain (“we”, “us”) helps executives and their assistants run the day: the Captain’s Brain app and the Dossier Install. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. The short version: your information is used to run your service, and nothing else. We don’t sell it, we don’t use it for advertising, and we don’t share it with data brokers.
When we set up your Dossier, we work in the tools you invite us into (for example your calendar or inbox), only for the work you’ve asked for. We never ask for or keep your passwords: you grant access through your own account settings, and you can remove that access at any time. Anything you tell us is kept confidential.
We don’t use your information for advertising, and we don’t track you across other websites or apps.
When AI features are on, the relevant text from your workspace is sent to Anthropic’s Claude API to write your Dossier, summaries and drafts. Anthropic processes it to give us the answer; under its commercial terms, it doesn’t use this data to train its models. Nothing is sent, posted, booked or bought on your behalf without a person approving it.
Only the service providers we need to run Captain’s Brain, under contracts that limit how they can use your data:
Inside your workspace, the people you invite can see what their role allows. Items marked confidential are hidden from roles that shouldn’t see them. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
The app uses one essential cookie to keep you signed in. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies. The app may also save small conveniences on your device, like your print settings.
We keep your information while your account is open. You can delete your account at any time in the app: Settings → Delete my account. That removes your account and the workspaces you created. Copies in backups are cleared within 30 days. You can also email us to ask for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete it.
Everything travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Passwords are hashed. Access to your workspace is limited by the roles you set. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to protect your information, and we’ll tell you promptly if something goes wrong.
Captain’s Brain is a business service for adults. It isn’t meant for children under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
Depending on where you live (for example in Washington, California or the EU), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or take a copy of your information, and to opt out of certain uses. Email us and we’ll help, whatever state or country you’re in.
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we’ll update the date above and let account holders know.
